If you would like a shore excursion consisting of a guided motorcycle tour, please contact us via email as soon as possible with your ETA/Vessel and desired route. If you’d like information on each route please ask or you can google it but be warned - you will glide into the rabbit hole of New Zealand scenery and may not surface for quite a while!
We have several set routes available for your excursion - the route selected is dependent on time available and generally involves around 4 - 7 hours in the saddle. We can provide helmets, gloves, jackets & pants. Some boot sizes are available. Fuel & Motorcycle Insurance is included. If overnighting, then the accommodation provided is 4/5 Star. We don’t charge per km - sometimes the day is just too good to end so we squeeze in more where we can!
You will need to provide a current, NZ recognised, full motorcycle licence and be aged between 25 years & 75 years young.
Meals & refreshments aren’t provided but there are lots of good places to eat along the way. Refreshment stops are around 1 - 1.5 hours apart, with around an hour or so for lunch.
You’ll be collected from the Pine Harbour Ferry Terminal in Beachlands, Auckland and taken to your ride in Maraetai.
All these routes are on tarseal. We avoid the State highway where possible except for access to the Northern routes or return legs if required. The rides are incredibly scenic, rural and/or coastal, travelling through villages, beach towns, gorges, winding valleys and mountain ridges. You will not regret it - New Zealand has some of the best rides in the world.
There are so many amazing roads to ride, and while we can arrange bespoke tours, we have the following well known options available (times include stops):
Kaiaua Loop ~ 3.5 hrs. Waihi Loop ~ 6.75 hrs. Warkworth/Matakana Loop ~ 7hrs. Raglan Loop ~ 7.5hrs. Coromandel/Hunua Loop ~ 8.25 hrs.
If your time ashore extends to 2 or more day you can combine some of the above route options with accommodation back at your ship, or a Hotel/Motel within the area. Alternatively we offer rides which overnight at the following destinations:
Rotorua. Taupo. Mount Maunganui. Hamilton. Opononi. Paihia. We have a myriad of routes throughout the Upper & Central North Island for these overnight excursions. Some are back roads that the locals love, some are well known treks. All are great, and traffic is usually easy and well behaved.
Many of you come from countries where you drive on the right. Please remember - New Zealand drives on the Left. Depending on group rider abilities displayed we can enjoy a comfortable pace and still see everything, or a slightly brisker pace if suitable. All our rides stay within the road laws and speed limits at all times.
NOTES:
We carry first aid kits, tools, & puncture repair kits.
It is recommended you bring a water bottle, fully charged cellphone with charger/cable, cash or card, and any personal items you may require.
All of New Zealand’s eateries provide for those with special dietary requirements. However, some of the more remote places may be limited in their offerings.
Only Helmets are compulsory for Motorcyclists in New Zealand but we strongly recommend using all safety gear available. We have a range of gear that should fit.
