The “Haerenga Nui !!” Tour

Starting in Maraetai, Auckland, we travel out East through the Coromandel, Rotorua through Forestry roads to Lake Taupo, the 46km long crater from one of the largest eruptions in history, and out to the Art Deco capital of New Zealand. Down this coast and then back inland to the centre and on to the InterIslander Ferries in Wellington. Crossing Cook Strait and through the Queen Charlotte sounds to Picton in the South Island. Then we take a winding scenic road west and then over the awesome Takaka Hill. Across to the Wild West Coast and glaciers and then cut through to Queenstown. Out to Milford Sound and down to the bottom of the South Island. The road will take us through massive glacier carved valleys, along vivid blue rivers & lakes. Back over the Cook Strait and hitting the lower West Coast of the North Island. Marvellous views and great vibes abound around the Glowworm centre of NZ. Finish with a refreshing drink or 2 and recap your adventure in a Maraetai cafe looking across the Waitemata harbour to Waiheke Island and volcanic Rangitoto.

We all know that photos seldom do justice to real life scenery, but we thought we’d include some snaps to give you an idea of the country you’ll be travelling through. Obviously weather plays a part but Jan/Feb/Mar are some of the best times to see the full colours of New Zealand. You’ll notice some of the images appear overcast - this can happen along the West Coast of the South Island, where moisture laden air rises up the great Southern Alps, lending a mystical prehistoric atmosphere to the day. We’re also blessed with fine beaches, winding roads and some of the best quality food in the world. Being tucked away down the bottom of the globe we are often overlooked, but NZ is quite literally the land of milk & honey, a modern day Garden of Eden. For those frequent travellers out there - we know being on holiday can be tiring but we are confident you will find something new to look at every day, including our scheduled rest & explore days. New Zealand is a land of many countries and “Haerenga Nui !!” will take you through so many highlights that you won’t even remember them all until you sit back at the end of the trip and think - Wow, what a blast!
